We had the honor of visiting the Stelios Klados winery for the first time in the summer of 2023. The full vines extend in the Panormo region near Rethymno in northern Crete all the way to the coast, where they are bathed in the sea breeze.
The “Pink Blackbird” creation is made from the Cretan grape variety Kotsifali, which owes its name to the blackbird (Greek: “Kotsifas”). This noble light pink wine is accompanied by the aromas of red currants, sour plums and cherries as well as lime, white flowers and clove aromas. This creates a distinctive fruity, creamy taste that is reminiscent of the warmth of the rising sun on a Cretan spring morning.
